While Trump's earlier critique focused on Europe's perceived refusal to pay for its own security, his vision has now embraced a far more alarming outlook.

These developments requires a robust response from European leadership. While some figures, such as Germany's leader, have been blunt in their pushback, including the office of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer—have opted for a strategy of attempting to appease the White House.

Recently, the UK government refused to criticize the president's remarks about Europe or his latest criticism on London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
